39 SQUARES

Days 6 & 7 for the 39 SQUARES stitchalong by Amy
Have been doing satin stitch ( I call it my strangling stitch !!!!!!) to try and improve ..still have to practice but almost there, at least the little bird looks alive and well !!!
For those of us who want to improve and learn more in the world of embroidery here's a nice blog to learn some stitches called STITCH SCHOOL
Am really enjoying this as it's not overwhelming like having to do a big project, that I usually start and get fed up with and becomes a UFO which eventually sees the light of day many years later............like doing my sampler quilt started 10 years ago and now I've just got it out again to finish thanx to doing these squares.....

I've actually put my beloved mixed media art, mainly paper on hold !!! I've fallen in love with fibres again..........me thinks it's time to combine the two once again.
ciao

I think your squares are lovely! I, like you, am trying to learn new stitches and get a little better with each square!

The mushroom is fabulous and the 'strangling' stitch made me laugh out loud - I have much trouble myself with the tension of it

your 1" squares are looking great... I really love the mushroom. I'm also a novice at embroidery but it's fun to tackle it 1" at a time!
